Dolores Jeanne Porter
Des Moines, Iowa
Dolores Jeanne Porter, 96, passed away on May 1, 2024.
Dolores was born on October 30, 1927 in Des Moines and lived here almost her entire life. She spent the last 74 years of her life in the home she owned in the Highland Park Neighborhood.
After retiring from the United States Post Office, Dolores became a dedicated walker which allowed her to maintain an active lifestyle. She also enjoyed watching and going to baseball games, swimming at Perry and Sheila’s pool and going to Prairie Meadows. Dolores was a great cook, learning many of her recipes from her time as a waitress working at the Chickadee Restaurant as a young woman. She also spent time making and decorating over 100 dolls, which she was very proud of. She was a good mother, sister, friend and neighbor. Dolores loved her family; her children were her proudest achievement.
Dolores is survived by her children, Jim (Rhonda) Prine, Janice (Dave) Queener, Ted (Debbie) Prine and Perry (Sheila) Hall; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Dolores was a close as possible to being a second mother for me and will be missed as such.
Congratulations to all of her family for having had such a wonderful influence for so long.
