David Joseph Oatman, 70, passed away on December 9, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born on October 14, 1954 to George and Marjorie (Walker) Oatman.

David worked at the Iowa Beef Steak House for 22 years as a food server. In his younger years, he enjoyed training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses. He looked forward to the Iowa State Fair each year, especially the horse shows. He enjoyed spending time in his yard, going to Prairie Meadows, and watching movies. He spent much of his time with his son, Eric, and they enjoyed bantering back and forth, always with a quick wit.

David is survived by his daughter, Angela Stewart and son, Eric Oatman. As well as his sister Patricia Oatman, and 4 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and George Oatman.
