Chris was called to his eternal home to live with his Lord and Savior on May 14th, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florene; his father, Cleo D.; sisters, Kathy (Wayne) Abuhl, Maxine (Jon) Christensen, Cleo Sondra; one surviving sister, Jolene (Jack) Gordon and nieces and nephews.

When Chris was 10 his parents returned to Topeka, Kansas where he attended school. He was on the football team and graduated from Seaman high school. He worked construction with his dad, sold IBM machines and sold cars. He later moved to Washington State and then returned to Des Moines where he worked as maintenance manager in apartment buildings for many years.

Chris liked to play his guitars, ride his bike and do his artwork. But he loved most to tell other of God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness known in his own life. Chris was loved and will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Door of Faith Hope Ministries in memory of Chris Fuqua. 6701 SW 9th St. Des Moines, Iowa 50315.
