Charlene Montgomery, 74, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024. She was born on June 14, 1949, the daughter of Theodore and Alberta Strange.
Charlene worked for KVI, which became Marsh McLennan and retired from there after more than 20 years of faithful service. She loved bowling, crafting, quilting, baking and camping. But above all else, she treasured time spent with her family and friends.
Charlene is survived by her children, Theresa Reiter, David Kinney, Lisa (Robb) Bussan, and Rebecca (William) Matzdorff; grandchildren, Jonathan (Abigail) Montgomery, Daniel Reiter, Michael Reiter, Mackenzie Bussan, Savanna Reiter, Mark Bussan and 3 great grandchildren, as well as other loving family and friends.
Family will greet guests on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Following visitation there will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
A private family burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa along side her husband, Michael at a later date.

I was shocked to read this. I thought of Charlene out of the blue 9n Sunday afternoon and decided to look her up on Facebook where I learned of her passing. A true God moment.
I worked with Charlene at KVI/Marsh. She kept me on track with her attention to detail and her desire to be helpful.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
