Carolyn Watson

Carolyn Mae Watson passed away at the age of 92 on April 26, 2024, at Norwalk Regency Assisted Living surrounded by her family and Gentiva Hospice. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 21, 1931, to Roland and Mae Watson. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949 and later AIB Business School. Carolyn worked for Farm Bureau Insurance and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines, Iowa.

Carolyn was an avid reader and she did beautiful needlepoint; embroidery and she documented our lives with photographs. She made an embroidered baby quilt for each of her 3 nieces and 7 nephews whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the Ft. Des Moines Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her sister, Catheryn Potter of West Lafayette, Indiana and brother, John (Judy) Watson of Indianola, Iowa; three nieces; and seven nephews. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, and brother, Jim Watson of Des Moines, Iowa.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery.
