Carol Ann Hanson, 85, passed away on January 5, 2024 in Pleasant Hill, IA. She was born on October 1, 1938 to Charles and Dorothy (Linville) Collins. She is survived by her son Brad (Martha) Harlan and daughter Delinda (Rob) Taylor, four grandchildren, Andrea Harlan, Matthew Harlan, Corbin Taylor, Carlee (Jordan) Cashatt, two great grandchildren, Lane and Ayla Cashatt and brother-in-law John Sellers.
She is preceded in death by per parents Charles and Dorothy Collins, husband Jack Hanson, and sister Jean Sellers.
Carol attended Corydon High School and graduated in 1956, moving to Des Moines where she worked at John Deere for 26 years. She lived in Saylorville at the same house for most of her life. Carol’s life was filled with many hobbies including cooking, photography, sewing, flower gardening, traveling, and shopping. She loved spending time with her friends and family. Some of her favorite travels included visiting her cousin on her ranch in Nebraska where she would spend time riding horses and rounding up cattle. During her later years she wintered in IA and spent time in Maine during the summers attending quilting retreats, feasting on seafood and enjoying the company of special friends. There wasn’t a time where she didn’t have one of her beloved puppy dogs on her lap.
