Brian Husted

Brian Husted was born to Ron Husted and Mona Haverland on April 30,1976, in Des Moines Iowa.

Brian grew up all over Iowa and made many friends along the way. He had touched so many people with his infectious laugh or crazy life stories that leave you just shaking your head. Brian was active in the car scene and his passion was tuning cars. He loved to make fast cars go faster. He used to say “I love seeing the faces” of people whose cars he worked on.

Brian finally settled down in Des Moines, Iowa. Where he spent his free time working on cars and spending time with family. He loved to travel and hoped to explore the world. Brian met his wife, Monica, in 2012 and blended two families into one. He had three children that he adored, as well as three step children he treated as his own. Those children blessed him with three grandchildren that lit up his world.

Brian is survived by his wife, Monica Husted; his daughters, Madeline Husted, Hannah (Hunter) Husted, and Brenna Husted; his step-children, Tabitha (Kyle) Schwartz, Nathan Wegner, and Alyssa Caston; his parents, Ron (Pam) Husted and Mona (Jeff) Haverland-Hunter; his grandmother, Debra Haverland; his sisters, Heidi Benton and Katy (Tom) DuVall; his brother, Michael (Khammy) Husted; his grandchildren, Zoey Wegner, Marious Thompson, and Zekai Chamble; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Brian is proceeded in death by his grandparent’s Kenneth and Faune Husted, Forest Haverland and Lou Haverland; and his sister, Michelle Husted.

A visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; 5400 SW 9th Street Des Moines, IA 50315. Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
