Belinda Evans

Belinda Evans, age 68, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa, due to health complications. Belinda was born on October 30, 1955, in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late John G. Evans, Sr. and Mildred L. Evans.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Evans and by her most precious Pomeranian Duchess.

Belinda was the sweetest sister, cherished by her siblings Donald and Patricia Evans, as well as her nephew Corey Evans and his wife, Jessica. She loved it when Corey and Jess visited her. Jess always painted her toes and trimmed her hair. She would always ask me every time I visited when was Corey coming again. She loved him so very much as he did her. She always called him her hunny bunny when he was young. She had a heart of gold and always extended a helping hand to those in need. Belinda was known for her love of crafts, especially crocheting blankets for her friends.

In her career, Belinda worked at Pizza Sub Shop and Kmart in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a dedicated employee and made many lasting connections with her colleagues and customers.

Belinda enjoyed worshipping at Lakemont Baptist Church and found solace in her faith. Her hobbies through the years included doing crafts, crocheting, playing bingo, going to craft shows, roller skating, riding around to see Christmas lights, shopping on Amazon, and buying scratch off tickets.

A celebration of life is planned for a future date in Petersburg, Virginia, where family and friends will gather to honor Belinda’s memory. The Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa, is assisting with the arrangements.

Belinda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her kindness and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
