Barbara Chapman

Barbara Jean Chapman, 76, of Des Moines, Iowa was born January 1, 1947 and was called home December 25, 2023.

Barb was the daughter of Roy Kline Sr. and Mildred Kline (McDonough).

She was an incredible person, mother and friend. Barb had a light and fire in her that will forever have an impact on anyone who met her. Barb loved the outdoors and going for walks and drives at Saylorville Lake and Jester Park. She also enjoyed talking on the phone to her best friend Maggie, for hours. In her younger days, Barb enjoyed fishing off the Grand Avenue bridge and going for motorcycle rides with her husband.

Barb is survived by her brother, Dave (Missy) Kline; children, Jimmy (Theresa) Chapman, Timmy (Cristal) Chapman, and Kimberly (Sean) Fisher Chapman; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and so many other family and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jim Chapman; four brothers; three sisters; and other family and friends.

Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 12pm at Hamiltons Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
