Arden Augspurger, 90, of Altoona, Iowa passed away peacefully at Edencrest, Tuscany on December 1, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Arden was born in Pulaski, Iowa to Russell Wayne Augspurger and Nellie Ernestine Bohi. He was the youngest of five sons and grew up in Davis and Mahaska Counties. He was married to Charlotte Mattix of University Park, Iowa in 1953, together they raised four children on a small acreage near Van Meter, Iowa.

In 1981 Arden married Donna Jones of Des Moines and they lived on a beautiful acreage in rural Dallas County.

Arden was employed by Western Electric for over 30 years. After retirement in 1984, he spent his time building the home at Wildflower Valley where he and Donna would live until 2018. Arden enjoyed meeting friends for morning coffee and together with Donna making the acreage a place for children and grandchildren to enjoy.

Arden is survived by his children, Alan (Debra) Augspurger of Bondurant, Deb (Jim) Curry of Runnells, Greg (Tracy) Augspurger of Runnells and Julie (Craig) Hermann of Altoona; step children, Deb (Steve) Davis of Indianola, Dan (Karla) Jones of Adel, Dixie (Rob) Rollheiser of Des Moines, Dori (Brad) Pote of Des Moines; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his sister, Rose Marie Brehm of New York.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 41 years, Donna; grandson, David Augspurger and four brothers, Byron, Roger, Keith and Duane.

Private graveside service will take place at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa.
