Anna Mae Hall

Anna Hall, 78, passed away on June 5, 2024, at Unity Point Des Moines Methodist Medical Center.

Anna was born on December 10, 1945, to Warren and Dolly Martin in Des Moines. She graduated from Technical Vocational High School in 1963. She married her true soulmate Stu Hall in 1970 and they shared a beautiful life together until his death in April of 2023. Anna and Stu cherished their two sons, Ryan and Chad. Anna's deep motherly love was a gift to her boys, as well as to the many children she doted on throughout the years she was a dedicated childcare provider. She was very close to her family, especially her brother, Warren Lee. She loved NASCAR, Mark Martin and Kyle Busch were two of her favorite drivers. Anna enjoyed watching Sci-Fi, especially Star Trek. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed cross-stitching. Anna also loved going to garage sales with Stu on the weekends.

Anna is survived by her sons, Ryan (Keri) Hall and Chad (Shanna) Hall; grandchildren, Trevor (Catherine) Hall, Amber (Andrew) Matney, Lauren (Jon) James, Brittany Harper and Victoria (Jeffrey) Greear; nieces, Belinda (Mark) Thomas, Kelly (Timmy) James and Vickie (Todd) Deardorff; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Stu Hall; brothers, Wilbur and Warren Lee Martin; parents, Warren and Dolly Martin; and her faithful companion of 18 years, her Chihuahua Lucy.

The family will greet friends Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 11 am to 12 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
