Amy Jo Martin
March 07, 1967 — February 22, 2024
Amy Jo Martin, 56, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 7, 1967, to Pat and Mary (Duncalf) Martin, Amy’s vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Amy adored her family, finding joy in every moment spent with them. She had a passion for the Oak Ridge Boys, her favorite candy bar the 3Musketeers, and the simple pleasures of coloring and watching movies. Amy’s warm heart and welcoming nature made her the first person to greet guest at her door, and her love for her cats knew no bounds.
She is survived by her mother, Mary; brothers, Rob (Renae) Martin and Ryan Martin; niece, Rylie; and nephew Brady Martin. Amy was preceded in death by her father, Pat.
Please join Amy’s family for a Celebration of Life on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m., at Terrace Hills Golf Course, 8700 NE 46th Ave., Altoona, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lions Eye Bank, Mainstream Living, or Easter Seals in loving memory of Amy.
Amy will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her infectious laughter, kind soul, and unwavering love for those she held dear. Many people walk in and out of your life, but few leave a footprint in your heart like Amy.

Dear Mary and Family,
I was Amy's teacher in the primary unit at Ruby Van Meter. She was one of my favorites! In fact, Mrs. Linda Hansen, my teacher partner, used to bring Amy along with her to my July 24th birthday lunch. We just loved spending time with her.
You may not remember this, but when there was an article in the paper about her adopting or her group home adopting a cat, I called you. As soon as I read the article I knew it was my former student, Amy. I have so many wonderful memories of her while she was at Ruby Van Meter.
I am so sorry for your loss! I immediately felt sad reading her obituary. I will keep all of you in my prayers. God bless.
Sincerely,
Marge Von Bon
