William Anthony Pippins II, age 15, left this life much too soon on Monday, August 14, 2023.

William was born July 12, 2008, in Davenport, Iowa. He grew up in the Des Moines area, attending Harding Middle School, and was going into his sophomore year at Hoover High School, where he was looking forward to continuing to show his talents on the football field, that he had developed playing for youth leagues previously. William loved to dance and hang out with his sister, Jezelle and nephew, Khalil.

Left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss are his mother, Latasha Jones; father, William Pippins; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Walter; siblings, De’Andrew Jones, Rae’von Teel, Jezelle Miller, and Phillip Jones,; half-sister, Antonia Pippins; aunts, Devan Jones, Rachel Pippins, Felicia Pippins, Tracy Pippins, and Bridgena Medlock; uncles, Dell Pippins and Lavel Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.

William was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Orr; great-aunt, Cheryl Curry-Gentry; and uncle, David Jones II.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
