Walter William (Bill) Myers, age 76, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at University Park Nursing and Rehab in Des Moines
 
Bill was born January 14, 1948, in Dixon, Illinois to Walter (Harley) Myers and Barbara Myers. He proudly served as a sergeant in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Bad Tölz, Bavaria, Germany. He loved his family, music, and fried chicken.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Lesley Ann Myers; granddaughters, Stephanie and Staci Myers; great-granddaughter, Zyla Dalton; and the mother of his daughter, Connie Myers-Mitsven.
 
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Walter (Harley) Myers; mother, Barbara Myers Whitehurst; stepfather, Edgar Whitehurst; and his siblings, Beverly, Robert (Bob), Becky, and Beth Ann.
 
A committal service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa 50003.
