Service Details

Vickie J. Geraci, 71, passed away on September 2, 2023. She was born on January 5, 1952 to Charles and Victoria Berg of Des Moines. Vickie grew up on the east side and graduated from East High School in 1970 where she was a Drum Major.
From an early age, Vickie was smart, bold, opinionated and determined. She bought a house in her early 20’s and taught herself to hang wall paper, paint, and cut and lay floor tile. She also learned to cook a number of specialties including clam chowder, spaghetti and meatballs, and smoked turkeys. She really enjoyed entertaining and hosted numerous parties.
Over the years, Vickie became the consummate salesperson and a savvy businesswoman, winning sales awards wherever she worked. She excelled in her craft in a business dominated by men. She was a single mother who raised her son, Rob, who grew up to be a loving father and husband.
Vickie left Des Moines for Southern California in 1997. There she met Vince Geraci while working together at PTI Advance Filtration in Oxnard, CA. The couple married in 2003 and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 2004 for work. While visiting Des Moines for Vickie’s 60th birthday party at Kathy’s on Hickman, the couple realized how much they missed being close to their many Des Moines friends. They made the move to West Des Moines in 2012.
Vickie was a successful business owner for the past 16 years as a distributor in the filtration industry. With her huge heart and vibrant personality, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need.
She is survived by her husband, Vince; her son, Rob Watson (Lisa); her granddaughters, Gabriella, Sophia, and Julianna; nephew, Nick; niece, Hillary; cousins, Josephine and Beverly; and many other loving relatives and special friends. Vickie was predeceased by her parents and brother, Chuck.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa.
