Thomas Ellis, 70, passed away on November 27, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Tom was born May 17, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa to Thomas and Dorothy (Adrian) Ellis. Tom graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971 and lived in the Des Moines area all his life. Tom worked at Koch Brothers for 20 years and retired at the age of 40 to take care of his parents. He had lots of good memories while working there.

He enjoyed bowling and was inducted into the Greater Des Moines Hall of Fame in 2008. Tom had received his 25-year plaque from the National Open Bowling Tournament. He also participated in countless city and state tournaments. Many people knew him as Wrong Foot Tom. He had never achieved that perfect game of 300. He has to his credits, 299, 298, and 297 games, and a nice 807 series with games of 265, 264, and 278. He served on many committees while serving on the Greater Des Moines Bowling Association Board. Tom also held the position of president during the merger of WBA and the BA.

Playing cards was a great time for him, and had been teased many a time by his opponents claiming he had cards in his front shirt pocket. Tom was a faithful friend to those needing rides to and from the grocery store, doctor appointments, and therapy treatments, all you had to do was ask. Tom will be missed by all who knew him.

Thomas is survived by his cousin, Pat Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
