Theresa Fuller
December 06, 1928 — December 09, 2023
Theresa Fuller, 95, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, surrounded by her family at MercyOne Medical Center.
Theresa was born on December 6, 1928, in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Aime and Anna (Bourgeouis) Goguen. Theresa was a director at ABC School of Learning for over 20 years. Children were her passion. Theresa loved her family and you could count on her cheering loudly at their sporting events, dance recitals, and every other activity they participated in. She had a deep faith and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for many years before moving to Thomas Place in Waukee, where she attended St. Boniface Catholic Church. If you came to her with any problem, you left with prayers and a St. Jude Medal. Theresa was a great cook and loved feeding everyone at all the family events. Pasta, meatballs, and cherry tarts (just to name a few) were her specialty. She loved to crochet and the many blankets, baby hats, and booties will be cherished forever. Theresa loved to sing and dance. She also loved to play the penny slot machines.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Patty (Bill) Glenn, Nancy Fuller, Julie Fatino, and Annette (Michael) Miller; grandchildren, Kim (Tony), Christopher, Adam, Ashley (A.J.), Chad, Michael, Shayne (Sara), and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Trisha (Paul), Taylor (Josie), Michael (Tori), J.T. (Katie), Blake, Ally, Brooks, Mariah, Savannah (Lance), Paul, Maddie, and Josee; great-great-grandchildren, Miley, Monroe, Luke, and William who is on the way; siblings, Rita Freitas and Lorraine King; and other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; grandson-in-law, Terry O’ Bryon; grandchildren, Angela Fatino; and siblings; Margaret, Jerry, Lena, Yvonne, Anita, and Claire.
The family will greet friends Friday, December 22, 2023, from 12 pm to 2 pm with the funeral services to follow at 2 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Aunt Theresa was a spunky woman (don't ask the question if you don't want the answer!) We will miss her spirit, honesty and laugh. We always enjoyed her visits to our home, especially running around town to find her cherry Coke! There was some in our refrigerator every time she stayed with us. She loved Bella - "The smartest dog in the world" and Bella loved her, snuggling up to her at night. We will miss the random phone calls because "Anita told me to check in on Bobby to make sure he was okay." Heaven has another angel. May her memory be eternal. Love Bobby, Suzanne and Bella

My childhood memories couldn't be complete with out including Theresa. She treated me like her own, always! Always so happy and jovial. No matter how many years went by she always greeted me with a hug and that slight East Coast accented,"Oh,Debbie!". She was great friends with my Dad's folks, especially my Grandma Chidester, and shared many a card game. My Dad Gordon sends his condolences and said,"she was a great lady",I couldn't agree more. I love you and know that you are resting in peace in Heaven.

I am so sad to hear of Theresas passing . I worked for her starting at 15 for many years . Her and I would stay so long after work talking . She saw me through some very rough teenage years . Always , always listened and gave advice worth remembering forever . Theresa was a great boss , and a forever friend . I hope she gives Angie a hug from me .
