Teddy Lee Scovel

Teddy Lee Scovel, age 67, was born April 2, 1957, in Monterey, California to Wallace and Barbara (Cheville) Scovel. He was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer at the end of April and passed away quickly and unexpectedly on May 14, 2024.

Teddy was master gardener and had an amazing green thumb. His knowledge of plants and flowers was extensive. He lived to be outside, planting and tending his gardens and his chickens. He worked for various greenhouses throughout his career and was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps. He loved his little dog, Keno.

Teddy is survived by his brothers, Tom, Tim, and Terry Scovel; special niece, Jessica Dykstra and her family; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Teddy will be interred at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
