Terry Sue Post, age 70, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Terry was born December 25, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa to Floyd and Patricia (Riepe) Walters. Terry dedicated her life to children, working as a Teachers’ Aide and Substitute Teacher for the Des Moines Public Schools System. Terry was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening. She loved being outside in the summertime. Terry loved her family and cherished each of her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Shannon Post; sons, Kyle Carter and Jason White; grandchildren, Amber White, Elizabeth Hentges, Emilee White, Kendal Carter, and Gage Carter; mother, Patricia Meyers; siblings, Gary (Janet) Walters, Lori Leeper, and Vicki Caylor; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Walters; brother, Floyd Walters Jr.; granddaughter, Shelby Rush; and her best buddy, her miniature pinscher, Kirby.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, also at Hamilton’s, and will be followed by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Terry.
