Teresa Marquez-Hernandez, age 79, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at her home in Des Moines.

Teresa was born June 1, 1945, in Mexico to Gilberto Marquez and Angelina Hernandez.

She immigrated to the United States in 1989, and has been a resident of the Des Moines area since 1995.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Benito Espinoza, Alfonso Espinoza, Manuel Espinoza, Cesareo Espinoza, Leonardo Espinoza, Sergio Espinoza, Isabel Espinoza, Virginia Espinoza, and Juan Espinoza; siblings, Valdemar Zenteno, Raul Zenteno, Ricardo Zenteno, Gerardo Zenteno, Israel Zenteno, Maria Del Carmen Zenteno, and Guadalupe Zenteno; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church, 1271 E 9th Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Teresa.
