Tom was a good coworker. He held get togethers for folks more than once. Tom also created a presence in the community as an educator for Iowan's civil rights representing the ICRC with professionalism and zeal. Rest in peace.

What a great neighbor and friend. Tom was always there when a tool was needed or advice on how to fix something. We will miss chatting with him from across the street and his sense of humor. He loved to talk about his sons and grandkids. Prayers for peace and comfort for the whole family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Tom's passing. He was a great person to share an office with and I have many good memories of that time. Tom had a great sense of humor and could always be depended on. When people came to ask for his help he would often use the line from Star Trek, "Welcome, please state the nature of your emergency." He was a true public servant and everyone's friend.

I have good memories of Tom working at the Iowa civil rights commission. His thoughtful helpful personality provided much on a given day. I liked how he would keep my computer connections just right and made me a certificate saying most valuable file finder. I loved his sense of humor. He spoke highly of his family and was overall a good friend to many people. My memory of his sense of humor and compliments all remain of high regard.

I remember all the early mornings Tom and I would talk before we started the day at the Commission, about our families, about our ever aging bodies and about all the things ahead for us that day. I also remember how Tom would worry about me and how I was doing, especially my last couple of years at the Commission. He was much more than a coworker; he was a very dear friend. Recently, Oscar would see Tom frequently when he would come in to Sam's Club and Tom would always say to tell me hello. My dear friend, I wish you peace and I wish your family strength during this difficult time.💔
