Susan Elizabeth Kock

Susan Elizabeth “Siouxzq” Kock passed on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was 74 years old and suffered from Dementia.

While Roger was serving in the Army, Sue and Roger were married at Fort Clayton, Panama Canal Zone on September 25, 1970 where they lived for one and a half years and enjoyed life in the Caribbean. While there, a son was born, Jeffrey Allan.

Sue played housewife for a few years and then entered the job market as the family grew with the births of their son, Jeremy Nathan and daughter, Jenae Elizabeth. She worked in banking software until she retired from Fiserv in 2017. She greatly enjoyed the people she worked with over the years.

Sue enjoyed playing Court Whist with the ladies and she and Roger enjoyed bowling for many years. They had close friends and family who shared holidays and their lives for many years. She was a great “Grandma Sue” and loved her granddaughter with all her heart.

Sue is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger; sons, Jeffrey and Jeremy; daughter, Jenae Halstead; granddaughter, Olivia Halstead; sisters, Sandra (Andrew) Ellison and Linda (Ed) Hatchett; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Elizabeth Richardson; stepmom, Charlotte (Marvin) Gee; and in-laws, Larell and Catherine Kock.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Sue will be cremated following the visitation and laid to rest at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa at a later date.
