Stephanie Ann Stewart
September 02, 1971 — March 19, 2024
Stephanie Ann Stewart, 52, passed away March 19, 2024 at Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa after a courageous battle with cancer.
Stephanie was born September 2, 1971 in Des Moines, IA. She grew up in the Urbandale area and graduated from Urbandale High School. She earned her Bachelor Degree from Simpson College in Indianola, IA. Stephanie started her business career at American Family Insurance where she worked in auto claims for 25 years. She later transitioned to Farm Bureau Insurance.
In her spare time, Stephanie could be found volunteering at many different venues. Some of her favorites were the Furry Friends Refuge where she fostered little kitties or Sleep in Heavenly Place, an organization that built and provided beds for children in the community who didn’t have a bed to sleep in. Another favorite was Lutheran Church of Hope, which offered many options where Stephanie could lovingly minister to others. Stephanie was so blessed to have so many friends and family express their love and support during this time; the family is overwhelmed with all of those who have reached out.
Stephanie had a passion for living a healthy and holistic lifestyle. She enjoyed exercising, lifting weights, walking and yoga. She believed that you should make every moment count and she was such a great advocate of that philosophy.
During her journey she taught so many besides her family how important it was to advocate for yourself and attempt to live a healthy lifestyle. She loved to travel, especially where she could go hiking. Stephanie was the planner and always loved booking last minute trips to drive her husband Jon crazy.
Stephanie was a loving wife and mother. Her pride and joy was her son, Quintin. She was so involved with all his activities, especially his sports and hunting activities. Stephanie would often volunteer to accompany Quintin on his early AM waterfowl and deer stand hunts on the Stewart Family farm. Stephanie loved to see the joy that this brought to her son. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Jon and son, Quintin. She loved spending time with all of her nieces and nephews, and they considered her their favorite aunt.
Left to mourn her loss is her husband, Jonathan Stewart; son, Quintin Stewart; siblings, Kurt (Robin) Roul, Kayce (Chris) Culbertson, Reagan (Derek) Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Roul.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines, IA.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Lutheran Church of Hope in loving memory of Stephanie.

Jon and Quinitin: How lucky I was to have Stephanie as my sister-in-law. We were blessed to have her in our lives. She fought this terrible disease on her terms and I am so proud of her and the courage she displayed in her journey. May she be at peace. Know I love you both and am here for you.

I am so, so saddened by this news. I have known Stephanie since grade school and she is such a beautiful soul. She was quite the fighter with this disease but she still kept her great smile on and never complained. I have learned a few important things from watching her during this time. My heartfelt sympathy to the family.
