Sandra Jean Snyder, age 83, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Sandra was born July 8, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa to James and Venetta (Yoder) Kepler.
Her home and her heart were always open for absolutely anyone. It brought her great joy to provide food and love to those around her. Sandra enjoyed fishing, painting, cooking and baking from scratch. She cherished her many pets.
She is survived by her children, Alvin (Aireen) Snyder, Jr., Evan (Kathy) Snyder, and Jeanette (Tony) King; son-in-law, Gordon Trenhaile; 28 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, Jim (Mary) Kepler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Snyder; parents, James and Venetta Kepler; daughter, Hellene Snyder; and sisters, Garnet Davis and Marlene Grove.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Susan G. Komen Foundation in loving memory of Sandra.

Id like to extend my most sincere condolences to the family for the loss of this great beloved woman. I may not have known her personally but do you know how I know she was a great lady? She was held in such high praise from her daughter Jeanette and I could feel the love she had for her momma. I know she has a huge hole in her heart, as do you all, but I hope and pray that with all the shared love and memories of her that she will always be alive in your

Grandma may you rest in peace you'll always be in my heart it's hard to believe you're gone we are going to miss you your laughter your advice playing Yahtzee together I know you're smiling down on me from heaven and you are with Grandpa I'm just glad you're pain free
You're great grandchildren really misses you special Casey but he understands may you rest in peace and be with all our hearts forever until we meet again I love you so much

I miss you so much grandma 😞 I want to believe that youre in heaven with grandpa, aunt Hellene, and with those youve missed for so long that you called family. Im still in disbelief that youre gone. Youre really gone 😢 Ive tried preparing myself for when the time comes to have to lay you down to rest. I guess you never can truly prepare yourself to put someone that you love so dearly and close to your heart lay to rest. Thinking about it hurts even more. Kiddos miss you too grandma. They love you very much! I know well be together again someday. Rest in peace grandma 🙏
