Suzanne "Sue" Faith Smith

Suzanne Faith Smith, age 61, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Sue was born March 8, 1962, in Portland, Oregon to Olen and Dorothy (Whitney) Eisenbeck. She moved to the Des Moines area in 1980. She married Robert Monroe Smith, and they had two daughters, Victoria and Sarah. She worked as a customer service representative prior to her illness.

Sue enjoyed latch hooks and she also weaved hot pad holders that she liked to give as gifts to her family and friends. She was very talented at sewing and enjoyed baking cookies. Sue loved her kitty, Taz and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith; daughters, Victoria (Matt) Winkels and Sarah Tripp; grandchildren, Quinton Tripp, Mikayla Smith, and Jeremiah Winkels; and sister, Carol Anderson.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, Olen Leroy Eisenbeck; mother, Dorothy Niami Eisenbeck; brother, Robert Eisenbeck; sister, Sandra Eisal; and grandson, Devin Tripp.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023, also at Hamilton’s. Cremation will take place after the funeral service.
