Service Details

Savoy Lou Morton was born November 13, 2006, in Des Moines, Iowa to Heather Blumer and Tyshay Morton. He was technically born with half a heart, but you wouldn’t know it because he had a bigger heart than any other kid his age! He was the recipient of a heart transplant, and a subsequent kidney transplant, but he passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at age 17 at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Savoy beat so many odds! He was extremely resilient and didn’t let his health challenges define him. He did everything with a smile.

Savoy attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines. During Covid he started a YouTube channel and amassed over 2,000 followers. He was an avid gamer and loved playing with his brothers. He was dedicated to his YouTube channel and his Tik Tok followers.

Savoy was a huge WWE wrestling fan. He loved going to WWE meet-and-greets, and got to meet 29 of the wrestlers at the Des Moines Airport after their last Des Moines event. His favorite was Dominik “Dirty Dom” Mysterio. He was also a New Orleans Saints fan.

He is survived by his mom, Heather Blumer; dad, Tyshay Morton (Alisha); siblings, Anthony Harris, Jr., Sincere Morton, Shiloh Morton, and Aerionna Morton; grandpa, Zachery Sly; great-grandma, Marlys Hyland; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving family and friends.

Savoy was preceded in death by his grandma, Cindy Francis; uncle, Josh Laird; great-grandparents, Kenny & Mildred Sly, and Harold Blumer; and great-aunt, Terri Munford.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
