Sharon Muriel Lattimer, age 88, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her home in Des Moines.

Sharon was born September 20, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa to Arthur and Doris (Clark) Kuefner.

She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. After graduation, she met Jerry Lattimer and they married on March 10, 1955. Sharon held various secretarial jobs throughout her life before opening Brad’s in Grimes, Iowa. She was the owner of Brad’s for 44 years before selling the business in 2004.

Sharon was a longtime girls’ fast-pitch softball coach along with her husband, Jerry. They helped start the North Des Moines Girls Softball Complex. Sharon loved spending time with her family, reading, playing cards, and spoiling her grandkids. She will be remembered fondly for enjoying socializing with her bar patrons.

She is survived by her children, Vicky, Sherri (Denny), and Rick (Sarah); brother, Steve Kuefner; grandchildren, Brad (Nicole), Caleb, and Kylie (Zoe); and great-grandchild, Kaleena.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her father, Arthur Kuefner; step-mother, Ruby Kuefner; mother, Doris Kuefner; and her sister, Shirley.

There will be a family gathering to celebrate Sharon’s life in the spring.
