Sheryl Doud

Sheryl Doud, born April 11, 1951, passed away November 11, 2023, after losing her battle with MDS cancer.

Sheryl moved to California with her first husband and worked at a café that had many movie stars. When asked if she ever got an autograph, she would say, "Just wasn't a big thing back then." She had stories that would keep your attention for hours. Sheryl worked at CDS for over 20 years along with her dear friend, Linda Coe. Sheryl also worked at the Des Moines Airport, sometimes alongside of her second husband, Stan Doud. Stan and Sheryl were married 42 happy years until Stan passed. “That was a marriage meant to be,” Sheryl would say. They enjoyed motorcycle riding and would take many trips with their friends to many states. They also had a band, where Sheryl played bass. In the band was Stan, her husband, her sister, Penny, and Ray Munz, a very good friend.

In addition to her husband, Sheryl was preceded in death by her dad, David Richardson, her mother, Betty Jo Richardson, her middle son, David Blodgett, her sister, Penny Galvin, and her brother, Danny Richardson.

Sheryl is survived by her sons, Mike (Janet) Blodgett and Ricky Blodgett; grandchildren, Lacey (Dennis) Christian, Jacob (Dawn) Blodgett, and Katelyn Blodgett; her great-grandchildren who were a joy to her, and her nieces and nephews. Sheryl will be missed by many.

Her life had great meaning and those she touched are indeed blessed to have had her in their lives. She collected angels, and to many she was one. A celebration of life will be set at a later date.
