Rosalee DiMaio

Rosalee DiMaio, 80, passed away at her home on October 5, 2025, surrounded by her children.

Rosalee was born on February 22, 1945 to Amy Genevieve Johnson and Xavier “Sam” Murano and was later adopted by Frank Daniel Caligiuri, Sr. She lived on the Southside her entire life. Rosalee graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and retired from Principal Financial Group.

She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her yard and getting her hands dirty in her flower gardens. Rosalee was also an avid reader.

Rosalee leaves behind her daughter, LeAnn (Mike) Miller and son, Anthony (Angie) DiMaio; grandchildren, Vincent (Maria) Miller, Emily Miller, and Nichole (Luke) Stilley; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Becca) Caligiuri, Frank (Joanne) Caligiuri, Jr. and Paul (Sally) Caligiuri; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; both fathers; and her sisters, Linda and Marylin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Rosalee.
