Rodney D. Brown

Rodney D. Brown was born September 30, 1934, to Corinne and Ralph Brown in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away peacefully at home December 21, 2023.
Rodney graduated Des Moines technical High School in 1952. His career in telecommunications spanned over 50 years. Rodney could fix almost anything and he often helped family and friends with car repairs, home maintenance and telecommunication projects. He was a constant support for his family cheering them on during sporting events, initiating family road trips to Colorado in the blue Chevy station wagon, and in later years visiting children and grandchildren in CA, AZ and KS. Rodney was a true Iowa sports fan and frequented Knoxville sprint car racing events, Hawkeye football and Drake basketball games.
Rodney and Wanda met on a blind date and were married for 68 years. They especially enjoyed attending Valley Church worship and church activities together.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Karen Sieg (David), Dr. Graig Brown (Jean), Gary Brown (Miriam), Shari Clough (Keith); six grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Brown, Andrea Johannesen and Trever Sieg, and Jordyn and Justin Clough; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Valley Evangelical Church, 4343 Fuller Road in West Des Moines with visitation one-half hour prior.
