Robert Sutton

Robert Arnold Sutton, 92, passed away December 9, 2024.

He was born May 2, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents Charles and Myrtle Sutton. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy. In 1952, he married the love of his life Ruth and they had a beautiful life together.

Robert enjoyed fixing and repairing anything and everything. He was an experienced pilot and loved flying his Cessna. He also enjoyed going to car shows and parades in his vintage 1935 Ford Truck. Robert also had a knack for upholstery.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Hawkins; granddaughters, Holly (Will) Miller and Wendy Bittle-Harrington; great grandchildren, Kasey, Trevor (Jasmine), Catty, Kyle, Maddie, Tiffany, Lily and Thomas; and ten great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Sutton; his parents, Charles and Myrtle Sutton; grandson, Nick; and great grandsons, Mikey and Levi.

Family will greet friends Monday, December 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, one NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
