Randyj Wiley Wright

Randyj Wiley Wright, age 61, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Randyj was born December 6, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa to Wiley and Charlotte (Overton) Wright. He loved his job as a driver for Liberty Ready Mix. Randyj was a devoted family man who loved his wife and daughter more than anything. Randyj was an avid Cubs fan and a collector of baseball cards. He enjoyed listening to music and fishing on his days off. He liked hunting as well as a child. Randyj had a good sense of humor, and even during his cancer diagnoses, he would use humor to put his family at ease. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Dena Wright; daughter, Emily Butler (Quen); siblings, Pam Wright and David Wright (Julie); stepfather, Bob Mortensen; aunt, Sandy Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews.

Randyj was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Wright and his mother, Charlotte Mortensen.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Cremation will follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
