Rayjon L. Ray

Rayjon Lasalle Ray, 24, was tragically taken too soon on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Rayjon was born October 24, 1999, to Ronell Ewing and Roy Ray in Des Moines, Iowa. Rayjon was a high energy spirit. He grew up in Des Moines and attended Des Moines Public Schools. At an early age Rayjon played sports. He went on to play for the schools and inner-city camps.
Rayjon went on to get vocational training to obtain his welding certificate. With that he got is first job at Titan Tire. Rayjon was a social butterfly. He loved to travel, make music, play basketball, dress well, play the game, and party with his friends.
Rayjon loved his babies. He was blessed with three beautiful children, Dailah B. Ray (4), Rayjon L. Ray (3), and Ranyiah L. Ray (1).
Preceding Rayjon in death is grandfather Ronald Frazier Sr., uncle Ronald J. Frazier Jr., and aunt Francine Griffin.
Rayjon will be missed by his mother Ronell Ewing-Ruffin (Michael) – Des Moines, IA, his father Roy Ray (Charolette) – Denver, CO, his grandparents Maudine Ewing-Carter – Des Moines, IA, Cherle and Greg Thomas – Denver, CO, siblings Ramello Jefferson (Breann) – Des Moines, IA, Britt Hellems Jr. – Des Moines, IA, and Runeva Mills (Marvin) – Denver, CO, and his significant other Claudia Harlan.
Rayjon brought light into so many lives. He himself brought memories to life for others. He was a true beacon of light and would light up the darkest room with laughter and love. He loved his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Repass will follow at Birdland Park, Ding Darling Shelter, 2100 Saylor Road, Des Moines immediately following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Rayjon.

Thank you for being so amazing to Royce. Shes little, but I will never let her forget you. I knew she had the best Brother the day in Castle Rock!!!! Thank you for being that.

I met Rayjon through his uncle Rich and brother Britt a very nice laid back person. Very respectful. My condolences and prayers to the family and may he rise again. 🙏🏾🫶🏽💙

I remember Rayjon when he was knee high to a grasshopper he would always bring his bike over to have Tony fix. He was a sweet kid miss you Rayjon. Rest in paradise
