Ronnie Lee Gilliam, age 78, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Ronnie was born January 26, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa to Frank and Mary (Templeton) Gilliam.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and a Combat Infantry Badge.

Ronnie had three sons and three daughters. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed taking the pontoon boat out and visiting with friends. He will be greatly missed.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Della Stoutenberg; step-sons, Donald Stoutenberg, Daniel Stoutenberg, and David Graves Sr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dogs, Gasby and Lilly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ronnie Lee Gilliam Jr.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Ronnie will be laid to rest with military honors at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
