Phyllis A. Williams

Phyllis Ann Williams, 80, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Phyllis was born October 25, 1945, to Guy and Myrle (Parsons) Spitler in Guthrie County, Iowa. She graduated from Adair Casey High School in 1963 after which she moved to Des Moines. On October 8, 1963, Phyllis married the love of her life, James Williams. They began their life together in Des Moines, raised two children, and were blessed with three grandchildren. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her interests included flower gardening, collecting antiques, and travel. She loved animals and adopted many strays and rescues throughout her life from wild squirrels to her loyal pups, Moe and Shadow. Phyllis was a hard worker and worked tirelessly alongside her husband, Jim for many years at his window cleaning business.
She is survived by her husband, James Williams; her daughter, Annette (Dominick) Ervelli; her son, Andrew; her beloved grandchildren, Dominick and Alyssa Ervelli, and Brooklyn Williams; her brother, Charles (Mary) Spitler; her brother-in-law, Fred (Pam) Williams; her sisters-in-law, Lawanda (Denny) King, Mary (Leland) Rouse, and Valerie (David) Franklin; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Guy and Myrle Spitler; her brother, Fred Spitler; mother and father-in-law, Andrew and Vivian Williams; sister-in-law, Frances Ruppert; and brothers-in-law, Jack and Gene Williams.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Guests are invited to stay for a luncheon. Burial will then be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
