Phyllis Lacey

Phyllis J. Lacey, 86, passed away November 23, 2023.
Phyllis was born on July 27, 1937 in Leon, Iowa to Leo and Marie Munday. She dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She was a member of Aurora Avenue Bible Church where she was on the kitchen committee for many years and the Sunday School secretary for over 30 years. She was also previously a two-time cancer survivor.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Reverend Dr. Mark Lacey; daughter Jan Hulling; 8 grandchildren, Nick, Sterling, Paige, Sara, Crystal, Austin, Megan, and Hunter. She was looking forward to her first great-grandson due in March 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Dr. Leo Munday Jr, and her husband of 52 years, Phil.
Special thanks to Unity Point Hospice of Cedar Rapids, especially Chris, Bobbi Jo, and Alicia for their wonderful caring and loving support.
Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Phyllis, to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, as her husband, son, and many other family members
were veterans.
Private family services will be held at a later date and Phyllis will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Your mom was my neighbor growing up on first street. What a friendly and always smiling lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Even when are parents die at an older age we still miss them. She was your mother and may many good memories help you at this time
