Paul Marshall Stamper
November 10, 1960 — February 05, 2024
Paul Marshall Stamper, 63, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital on February 5th, 2024. He was born November 10, 1960, to Jim and Paulette (Romore) Stamper.
He is survived by daughters, Emily (Trevor) Barrett of Adel, and Laura (Brian) Morris of Des Moines; brothers, Jimmy, Tyrell (Sherri), and Patrick (April) Stamper; sister, Anne (Steve) Curtis; and mother, Paulette. Paul also leaves behind grandchildren, Evelyn, Lily, Heny, Ruby Barrett, and Rylee Morris.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy D Stamper; and brother, Danny.
Paul was a very articulate man who could use words to heal when times were troubled. He had a great sense of humor and a sharp mind. He was an avid reader and loved history, trivia, sci-fi, and anything on the best-seller list. He loved arguing politics, setting off fireworks, telling you how to fix your car, carving pumpkins, and most of all, his kids and grandchildren. Grampy was always ready with (un)healthy snacks, good books, model planes and robots, and the best movie-watching parties you could find. He could often be found in his favorite old recliner, covered in grandkids and crumbs, laughing, singing, and simply enjoying the company of his family.
Paul leaves behind enough memories and stories to fill volumes, a family who will keep him always in their hearts, and a box of bolts from under the hood of your car that you “didn’t really need anyway.” We love you, Dad and Grampy. You will be deeply missed and we are counting the days until we are together again.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Paul will be laid to rest at Lowman Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Paul.

Paul Stamper was about as good as it gets, he was a good father, that all father's should be, his smile was infectious
This world has less value now that he is no longer a part of it
