Patsy Ann Matheny, 89, passed away November 27, 2025.

She was born May 25, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa to her parents, Gottfried and Margaret Mohr. Pat graduated from North High School. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all Pat enjoyed time with her family including the annual Labor Day trip to Lake Okoboji and celebrating Christmas.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Julie) Matheny, Randal Matheny, and Michael (Sue) Matheny; grandchildren, Brian (Alison) Matheny, Marc Matheny, Andrew Matheny, and Anthony Matheny; siblings, Barbara Andrews, Bonnie Kahre, and Scott (Lori) Mohr; and a host of other loving family members.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Bud” Matheny; parents; sisters, Arlene (Don) DuPratt, Janet (David) Draper, and Linda (Darrell) Gordinier; and brothers-in-law, John Andrews and Thomas Kahre.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family in loving memory of Pat.
