Paul D. Pearson
January 02, 1967 — December 19, 2024
Paul Douglas Pearson, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2024, due to the effects of pneumonia.
Paul was born January 2, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa to David and Linda (Johnson) Pearson.
Paul was a true outdoorsman and a mountain man at heart. He lived to do anything that involved the outdoors. He was respectful of indigenous cultures and enjoyed learning about their beliefs and customs, often living his life based on the lessons he learned from them. Paul loved kayaking, fishing, and spending time on the water. He enjoyed bow hunting and going to the shooting range, using his own arrows and bullets that he made. He was a hunter and a carnivore, and considered being the Meat Manager at Hy-Vee his dream job.
Paul met his wife Amy in Taekwondo class. He was a fourth-degree black belt, and she could match him, being a third-degree herself. He loved his grandkids more than anything. He could never get enough time with them and always wanted more. He always was up for having fun with family, and Steak Night Fridays were a family tradition. Paul was a caring, levelheaded, quiet guy who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Paul is survived by his wife Amy; his daughter Amber Lynch and granddaughter Aubree; his son Skyler Robson and grandchildren Jayden Graham, Beckham Robson, Kaydence Robson, Kingston Robson, Jamisyn Robson, Boone Robson and Donald Robson; his stepson Cody Daniels (Karlie) and grandchildren K’ydn Daniels and Quinten Daniels; his stepdaughter Morgan Daniels (Anthonie) and grandchildren Lizana Billie, Naylah Billie and Drea Daniels; his father, David Pearson; mother, Linda Johnson; stepfather, Craig Palmer; brother, Steven Pearson (Zinna); nieces and nephew, Cody Pearson, Adriana Olson, and Makenzie Gathercole; as well as many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Scott; and stepmother, Jean Pearson.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation prior from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Paul.

Amy, Cody and Morgan. Please accept our deepest condolences. Although I wasn’t able to attend his service I was able to listen to it live. Beautiful choices in music and it sounds like he was very loved. Love, Nate and Julie
