Nicholas John Willenborg, 43, born December 2, 1980, in Carroll, Iowa, passed away on October 27, 2024. Known for his adventurous spirit and kind heart, Nick will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving father, devoted son, and loyal friend.

Nick shared a special bond with his daughter, Norah, whom he adored deeply. Together, they made lasting memories that will be cherished forever. He was formerly married to Jessica Stille, with whom he maintained a bond centered on their love for Norah.

Nick found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was out fishing by the water, camping under the stars, enjoying a good movie, or playing a round of frisbee golf, he embraced each moment fully. His sense of adventure, love for the outdoors, and easygoing nature left a mark on everyone he met.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Norah Willenborg of West Des Moines, IA; his father, Lynn Willenborg, and Lynn’s wife, Reyna of Denison, IA; his mother, Sue Willenborg (Anthofer) Des Moines, IA; his siblings, Chris Willenborg (Casey) of Grimes, IA, Stacy (Jairo Matthews) Willenborg Houston, TX, and Nathan Willenborg of Carroll, IA; his half-siblings, Lydia and Victoria; and his cherished nephews, Kyler and Jacob, and nieces, Kaylie and Kenna. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Colette Willenborg of Carroll, IA. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Ann Anthofer and John Willenborg, as well as by his uncles, Joe Anthofer and Dave Drake, and his aunt, Eileen Drees.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, in West Des Moines, Iowa with John Drake, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines with casketbearers, Brian Drake, Dan Drake, Travis Drake, Jeff Brincks, Kyle Finley and Kyler Willenborg.
