Nancy Margaret Camps

Nancy Margaret Camps, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, February 23, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center. Per her request, no public services will be held.

Nancy was born November 25, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was adopted at birth by James and Evelyn Hall. On May 5, 1969, she married Donald Joe Camps. The couple moved from California back to Iowa in 1983 and were married until his death in 1989. Nancy never remarried.

Nancy enjoyed being a homemaker and she loved her cats. She enjoyed watching professional wrestling on TV. Nancy was very sarcastic and quick witted. She didn’t have a filter and would tell you exactly what was on her mind. Nancy loved caring for her grandchildren, they were the loves of her life. She especially loved telling them “grandma stories”.

Nancy is survived by her children, James Donald (Lori) Camps, Jody Robert Camps, John Anthony Camps, Jillayne Elizabeth (David) Camps and Jeffrey Roy (Miranda) Camps; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joe Camps; her parents, James and Evelyn Hall; and 2 grandchildren.
