Nancy Kay Salyers
June 28, 1944 — March 30, 2024
Nancy Kay Salyers was born in Des Moines, IA on June 28, 1944, to Glenn (Bob) & Margaret (Bill) Kerr.
Nancy grew up on the East Side of Des Moines; she attended Des Moines Technical High School where she met her husband Dick. They were joined in marriage on February 8th, 1963, then moved to Long Beach, CA, where they welcomed their son, Ric, in October 1964. After they returned to Des Moines, they welcomed their baby girl, Kelly, in May 1969.
Nancy was an amazing seamstress, spending several years at JC Penney; she always was willing to hem pants, a dress, or fix something for anyone who asked. She worked for Pacesetter and Principal Financial group, retiring in 2005.
Nancy loved her family and she never shied away from being the hostess with the mostess, carrying on the family traditions and hosting Easter and Thanksgiving. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren - she enjoyed spending time with them, making Christmas crafts, and having many picnics in the summer. Her love for them was endless.
Her 79 years on this earth were nothing short of incredible; anyone who had the honor of knowing her, knew they were forever blessed. Nancy passed away peacefully on March 30. She is survived by her son Ric (Carmen), along with her grandchildren Jacob (Holly), Jordan (TJ), and Cade (Liv), as well as brother Jim (Alice) and her sister Jane. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Duffer (Larry) and Mike, husband Dick and daughter Kelly.
This is not goodbye! This is see you later.

I worked with Nancy at Principal for many years. Nancy always had a big smile and was happy and we always had good conversations. I also worked with Jane and didn't know for long time they were sisters. I cherish our friendship. Until we meet again. Praying for Nancy's family during this difficult time
