Michael Rose
November 24, 1955 — October 25, 2025
Michael Alan Rose, 69, passed away October 25, 2025. 
He was born November 24, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents, Richard and Patricia Rose. 
Michael was a welder at Eagle Iron Works for over 40 years. He ran a lawncare business for many years as well as a metal art business, where he enjoyed making and selling metal art. Michael was a skilled woodworker and woodcarver. He was also a proud Eagle Scout. Michael enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, and taking “day trips” throughout Iowa. Michael also enjoyed vacationing in Minnesota particularly at Sand Bay Resort. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Penny Rose; children, Alan Michael Rose and Sarah Renae Rose; grandson, Zachary Alan Rose; brother, Jeffrey (Nina) Rose and their children, Evie (Bradley) and Abby (Justin); four-legged fur babies, Daisy Mae and Maisey; and many other special friends and loving relatives. 
Family will greet friends November 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial service will start at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th avenue in Des Moines. 
Memorial contributions can be made to The Animal Rescue League and/or Taylor Hospice House in loving memory of Michael.

So sorry to hear about Mike’s passing. He was all those things mentioned in the obit PLUS he was the BEST church Elder and announcement-giver! And his smile was one-in-a-million.

I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. My parents were great friends of Dick and Pat, and my sister, Teri, and I would frequently tag along on card night to hang out with Mike and Jeff, which I'm sure they just loved. But I have a lot of fond memories of playing games and for some reason, watching Godzilla movies. Sending my deepest sympathy to your family.
