Mary “Jeanie” Conkling, 56, passed away unexpectedly February 7, 2025.
Jeanie was born October 7, 1968 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Carl and Cynthia (Jones) Hooper. She was a Godly woman and loved her church, Calvary Apostolic, where she had been attending for the past 5 years. Jeanie loved spending time with the Ladies Groups as well as teaching the children. She adored her family and also loved her job with Intoxalock, where she had been a Compliant Officer for the past 15 years. Jeanie also enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, Katelyn and Ali. She married the love of her life Shawn in 2005. Jeanie was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, but she let Shawn have the win this year.
Jeanie is survived by her loving husband, Shawn Conkling; daughters, Brandi (Steven) Williams and Mindy Jansen; granddaughters, Alicia Williams and Katelyn Jansen; mother-in-law, Cheryl (Allan) Blue; brother-in-law, Matthew Conkling; cousin/brother, Eddie Jones; cousin/sister, Christina Sibley; Godmother, Jeanne Winkleman; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cynthia Hooper; brother, Carl Andrew Hooper; uncle, Ed Jones Sr.; aunt, Mary Burge; grandmother Mary Caroline Jones; uncle, John Jones; and many other relatives.
The family will greet friends Friday, February 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2611 Easton Blvd. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Jeannie was my 2nd mom. She was always there when I needed her. I will miss her so much!

Jeannie had kind eyes, a welcoming personality and a good heart. I will miss seeing and visiting with her.
I hope those who loved her will hold onto the memories especially her grandchildren.
