Matthew Spaulding

Matthew James Spaulding, age 31, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

Matthew was born November 24, 1991, in Perry, Iowa to Julie Ann (Kennedy) Smith and Christopher David Spaulding.

He worked for Tyson Foods and enjoyed fishing, nature, being outdoors, and riding his bicycle. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Ashley, mother Julie Smith, father Chris Spaulding, sons Justin and Zander, stepdaughter Aurora, siblings: Melissa (Beau) Smith, Michael Spaulding, KayLea Spaulding, nieces: Rhian, Zaelah, Mariana, aunts and uncles: Randy (LaDonna) Kennedy, David Kennedy, Janel Kennedy, Jill (Chris) Johansen, James (Carolyn) Spaulding, paternal grandmother Susan (Loren) Mace, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Connie Kennedy, paternal grandfather Norman Spaulding, uncle Michael Kennedy, great-uncle Chris Spaulding, several other great-uncles, and a child in infancy.

There will be a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Jefferson Community Golf Course Banquet Hall, 501 Greenewood Road, Jefferson, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Matthew.
