Mark A. Meeks, Sr.

Mark Andrew Meeks, Sr., age 61, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at his home in Des Moines.

Mark was born April 25, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Marylin (Caligiuri) Meeks. He was self-employed as owner/operator of Storm Meeks Auto Body, Inc. since 2000.

He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, working on his cars, playing billiards/pool, assisting anyone in need, drag racing, fast cars, and always there for a good time. Mark loved to be outdoors in the backyard creating homemade pizzas and steaks on the open fire, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He always made the best homemade meatballs and pasta on Christmas and shared with the whole family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Jessica (Pablo) Lara, Jennifer Cossman, Molli (Tanner) Ruble, Mark (Carli) Meeks, Jr., and Maggi Pedersen; grandchildren, Antonio, Sophia, Gianna, Melissa, Rainy, Devon, Nevaeh, Alaina, Bryson, Kimber, Mason, Chevelle, Marik, and Marylin; his beloved dog, Whitewall; as well as numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marylin Meeks; and his loving dogs, Moses, Sarah, Gracie, and Backfire.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mark.
