Mary Joanne Manley
March 03, 1959 — October 26, 2025
Mary Joanne Manley (Goltz, Scigliano), age 66, passed away suddenly on October 26th, 2025, in her home in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born March 3, 1959, to Erwin and Joanne Goltz.
Mary was strong, independent, and lived life on her own terms. She was guided by her values and convictions, never swayed by the opinions of others. She was very supportive of her family and worked very hard for the things she knew were important. Throughout her life, she enjoyed camping, horses, watching movies, cars, and listening to power ballads. Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and REO Speedwagon were among her favorites.
The highlights of her career include Washpoint Autowash, where she met Troy Gray, her life partner of many years and REM Iowa. She spent the last season of her life as a delivery driver.
She is survived by her daughters Mikki Davis, Stephanie Day, Katie (Josh) Kimmel, and Miranda Scigliano; grandchildren Skylar, Levi, Hayden, Madi, Sophie, Gabriella, Dani, Shayla, Torri, Livy Mae, Anna, Kyley, and Matthew; great-grandchildren Letti and Maren; her sisters Helen (Ed) Lowe, Eileen Goltz, and Veronica Goltz; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her life partner of many years, Troy Gray, her parents Erwin and Joanne Goltz, and her brothers Erwin E. Goltz and Tony Goltz.
We will remember her grit, her blunt honesty, her willingness to help even when she had little to give, and the loyal love she carried for her family all her life.

sometimes all a girl needs is her grandma.. unfortunately i wasn’t able to see you or hug you one last time leading up to this. and im deeply sorry, and extremely full of regret because that. i hope you’re dancing in the sky for us. may god care for you for your eternity. i pray you are with him. though i will never know. i wish i did. i love you, nothing could compare to the love and support you have granted me during my worst and better times. you are greatly missed and never will be forgotten. i pray that you weren’t scared. i pray that it was at least semi peaceful for you. but i know that’s probably not true. you left behind an amazing piece of yourself in all of us. thank you for everything. rest in peace pretty lady ❤️
