Mary M. Lawson

Mary Margaret Lawson, 45, of Mitchellville, passed away on Monday, January 9th at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of Vicki and Don Wheatcraft of Colfax. She was married to David Lawson of Mitchellville for 20 years. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and cats, playing with her grandchildren, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturdays.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Don Wheatcraft; her mother-in-law, Sharon Lawson; her aunts Evelyn Reynolds and Michele Bowers; and uncle Michael Mitchell . She is survived by her husband, David Lawson; her mother, Vicki Wheatcraft; her sister, Heather (Mike Walker) Wheatcraft; her brother, Wyatt (Sierra Anderson) Wheatcraft; her sister-in-law, Andrea (David) Sanburn; her brother-in-law, Jeremy Lawson; her daughter, Grace (Christian Madison) Owens; her grandchildren Wrenlee and Elijah Madison; her nieces and nephews Brett (Sierra Paul), Joey Hopkins, Bodi Wheatcraft, Dalton (Catherine) Weatherly, Haleigh (Ryan) Bryson, and Dawson Weatherly; and 7 great nieces and nephews. Mary was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.

Mary will be greatly missed. I use to work with her many moons ago at Casey's. (& Grace also.) I'll always remember how bubbly she always was & funny.. & just someone that was one ya wanted to around. My thoughts & prayers to Dave & Grace & the whole family....

Mary was my good friend for many years. We lost track of each other these last 5 or 10 years. Always thought about her. Loved her 30 years ago and love her today. Cannot believe she is gone. My thoughts and prayers are with Vicky and Heather and Dave and her family. RIP my old friend. Never forget you

I worked with Mary about five years ago at Wells Fargo. She was a great coworker. She would go out of her way to be kind and always had a smile. My condolences to her family.

I worked with Mary years ago at WF and she was so kind and funny - I always enjoyed working with her and she always made me laugh, no matter how crazy things got. She was a wonderful human - sending my best wishes and strength to her family and friends as they grieve.

I have been friends with Mary and Dave for over 20 years. I have never in my life met a better couple that not only are husband and wife but best friends. Mary will be missed so much and I am blessed to have had her be my friend.
