Melissa "Missy" Dunlap

Melissa “Missy” Sue Dunlap, age 53, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, in her daughter’s home while under hospice care.

Missy was born July 20, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa to Claude and Linda (Hatch) Davis.

She enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandkids, they were her everything. Going on random vacations, singing karaoke, having BBQs or get togethers, missy loved driving her mustang around with the top down blaring all different kinds of music, throwing Halloween parties, and Pepsi, she really enjoyed her Pepsi.

She is survived by her Son, Bradley “Popeye” Davis (Marjie) - grandkids (Keigen, Addie, Rayah, and Ryker); Son, Thomas Dunlap Jr. (Haley) - grandkids (Ari, Shell, Marsha, Dallas, Hazel; Daughter, Marsha Davidson (Nate) - grandkids (Matthew, Presley, Hadley); Sons, Jacob, Logan, Chuck Dunlap and Trenton. Also a few to which she claimed as brother and sisters, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Missy was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Thomas Dunlap (Jamey), her parents Claude and Linda Davis, sisters Michelle Madison and Marsha Davis.

Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, followed by burial at Woodland Cemetery, Iowa Center.

Luncheon will be held at stone crest apartments following burial, 3330 E. 25th St. Des Moines, IA, 50317.
