Marjorie Adams

Marjorie Irene Adams, age 77, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Marjorie was born December 3, 1947, in Audubon County, Iowa to Mick and Lois (McKibbin) Pardee. She lived in Florida for over thirty years. Marjorie loved her family and dedicated herself to caring for them and her home. Her sense of humor brightened every room she entered. Marjorie loved genealogy, puzzles, reading, and quilting. Her greatest love by far was her family and she cherished them, especially her beloved grandchildren, above all else. Marjorie was selfless and giving with her love, time, and wisdom. She was immeasurably generous, gifted in all areas of life, and there was very little that she did not have knowledge or experience with. She was always just a phone call away for anyone who needed her help or advice. Marjorie loved life and her family, and expressed gratefulness every day.

She is survived by her children, Clint (Dawn) Madsen, Angela Madsen, Katie (Andrew Sandvig) Madsen, Paige (Masako) Adams, Nate (Laura) Adams, Ashley (Sherry) Adams; grandchildren, Caroline Sandvig, Harmony Sandvig, Violet Sandvig, Chelsea Adams, Abby Adams, Kayla (Caleb) Anderson, Jenna Adams, Eli Adams, Remy Adams, Sully Adams; great-granddaughter, Adalay Anderson; sisters, Marcella (Russ) Possehn, Melinda (Dwaine) Simonsen; as well as nieces, nephews, other loving family and many friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, David Adams; sisters, Mona Larsen, Patty Jo Pardee; and her parents.

There will be a celebration of life from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Marjorie.
